Flatland is a wonderful book by Edwin A. Abbott about two-dimensional beings and the 2D universe they inhabit. To a flatlander, any object in our 3D universe appears to them as a 2D straight line. You can show them the "curviest" object imaginable and they will insist it's a straight line. And from their perspective, they are absolutely right. So there's no sense in arguing the point with them. |
